New Confined Space Safety Requirements from ASSE
Posted by proforma on September 8, 2009 | No Comments
A revised ANSI/ASSE Z117.1-2009 Standard, “Safety Requirements for Confined Spaces,” has been approved by the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). The voluntary standard will take effect November 2, 2009, and provides minimum safety requirements when entering, exiting and working in confined spaces at normal atmospheric pressure. (Underground mining, tunneling, caisson work, or similar work already have established national consensus standards.)
A webcast is scheduled for September 20, 2009; for further information, check this ASSE press release.
